DTA were instructed by IM Properties to provide transport and highways advice for a large scale employment site for a mix B1(c)/B2/ B8 uses. It includes a £150 million, 39 acre super-hub for parcel delivery firm DPD which will create 750 new jobs, as well as further warehousing and space for manufacturing and light industry which will create a further 1,650 jobs. As well as producing the supporting transport assessment and framework travel plan, DTA were involved in detailed discussions and negotiations with the Local Highway Authority and Highways England, to secure access from the A5 (Trunk Road) with a new footway/ cycleway connecting Hinckley with the site. Mitigation is to be delivered at M69 Junction 1 to assist with existing and forecast queueing on the northbound off-slip.
